While every Catholic Christian is spiritually preparing for the advent of Jesus Christ in this season of Advent, the Catholic clergy of the diocese of Mangochi also have had their spiritual lives nourished, by having an annual retreat. This spiritual exercise, under the theme Baptized and Sent, has taken place at Montfort Lake house in Mangochi from 27th November to 2nd December 2022, whose facilitator was Fr. Tiyesi of Blantyre Archdiocese.
Fr. Tiyesi has reminded the clergy of the diocese of Mangochi that when God sends sinners to their fellow sinners to help them to get converted to God, He first of all removes their iniquities as He did to Isaiah. He has further said that the duty of the priests is not to scatter the sheep, but to gather them into one flock. To do this efficiently, they have to keep on removing the darkness that lies in their hearts by liking the sacrament of confession.
Speaking on behalf of all priests in the diocese of Mangochi, Fr. Tito Bayani has thanked the retreat preacher for helping them to pray and re-energize themselves spiritually and psychologically. He has also asked his fellow priests to remain committed to the priestly ministry in their respective parishes and institutions where they serve.
