On 23rd September, 2022, the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of the Diocese of Mangochi had their Eucharistic celebration that marked the opening of the 3-day period of prayers, which was held at Holy Cross Catholic primary school at Sacred Heart (Ulongwe) Catholic parish in Balaka district. These prayers are participated by the members of the executive committees of this Organization. At this official opening, the Catholic women of all parishes in this diocese have been advised to be prayer warriors and know that God is the Owner of everything.
According to the Dean of Ulongwe Deanery Father William Dodoma who serves at St. Francis (Chidzanja) Catholic parish who also led the Eucharistic celebration at this event, the women in the Catholic Church have got the responsibility in all aspects of personal life, be it spiritual and body and therefore they are very important.In addition to that, the Chairlady of Catholic Women Organization (CWO) at the Diocesan level, Mrs. Lenia Chitsanzo said that their goal is to reach out to the world with the Word of God and through this Word of God, people can show good behavior. She added that from next year, not only executive members will be involved, but also other members of this organization.
Mrs. Bertha Mapira, a parishioner of Kapire parish, was one of the participants and a member of CWO. She said that the AGM helps women a lot because they learn more about God and get advice on how to live morally.
Every year, the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Mangochi holds the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of one of her organizations called the Catholic Women Organization (CWO). The 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) was participated by over 100 women from different Catholic parishes in the Diocese of Mangochi.
