Playing a greater role in promoting and empowering productive youth through informal skill training, the Catholic Development Commission (CADECOM) in the Diocese of Mangochi called its technical partner Technical Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) to evaluate the quality and adherence informal training of some of the youth at Chimwala village Traditional Authority Chimwala in Mangochi district, on 19th March 2024.
Speaking during the evaluation, the TEVETA officer Ticheze Namalima, asked the apprentices from mechanics, tailoring and carpentry to be serious with their training as they approach their aptitude test. The vice Coordinator for ‘Solistipa’ Mr. Davie Luka, expressed his gratitude towards the work of CADECOM in the diocese of Mangochi.
The CADECOM coordinator Mr. Peter Nthenda, said he is delighted with the work TEVETA since it will contribute to the effectiveness and reputation of CADECOM informal training skills. The training started on 09th October 2023 and is for six months.
Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Issa Sailesi said the coming of TEVETA has helped them with skills to use so as to transform their area in order to inspire their fellow youth of Chimwala village.
