Pastoral agents in the deanery of Mangochi have been advised to live by example as they serve God in their respective places of service. This was spoken at St. Augustine’s (Mangochi) cathedral on 23rd March, 2024 when they had their spiritual exercise in a form of a recollection.
The spiritual exercise was aimed at helping the pastoral agents of this deanery to prepare well for the Holy Week and Easter. The recollection was preached by Reverend Father Cleophas Moshereriwa who serves at Our Lady of Lourdes (Namwera) catholic parish under the theme of “Self-discovery for Transformation.”
The Dean of this deanery, Fr. Clemence Pindulani expressed his gratitude for the timely message preached on this day because it will help them to grow in their spiritual life. He encouraged his fellow pastoral agents as well as Christians to reflect on their spiritual life as they will be entering the Holy week.
Sister Tereza Bayani, a Sacramentine sister, commented that the spiritual exercise will help them to recall what God has done for them and give thanks to Him through the good service. “This recollection has given us an opportunity to repent our sins in order to prepare well for the Holy week,” said Sr. Bayani.
Speaking with another participant, Mr. Lucius Molesi a Catechist from St. Augustine’s (Mangochi) parish, expressed his gratitude that the recollection will help him to reflect on his life as one of the pastoral agents. He also encouraged Christians to purify themselves as they are approaching the Holy Week, in which they meditate more deeply about the Passion of Christ.
Different deaneries of the Diocese of Mangochi have been having some spiritual exercises during this Lenten season. This week was for the deanery of Mangochi to have it. Mangochi deanery comprises parishes like St. Augustine (Mangochi), St. Joseph (Namalaka), St. Peter (Lulanga), Our Lady of Lourdes (Namwera) and St. Padre Pio (Katema). This recollection was attended by priests, religious sisters, seminarians and catechists serving in such parishes.
